Let's Enter the Land
So this is the first blog post in the new website.
I am really no good at this.
Maybe that is a good thing.
I hope that you are finding this website helpful. I have big ideas for it. I hope you do too.
I feel like Joshua today. You know, Joshua from the Old Testament. Yeah, that one.
I have always wondered what he was feeling that first day they got to enter the land of promise. There he is - with the whole nation of Israel - and they are about to embark into the unknown. They have no idea what is waiting for them: giants, armies, cruel terrain, milk and honey, etc. It is a whole new adventure for them.
Also, Joshua has just become the leader of this nation of wanderers, searching for what God has promised to them.
Whew, that would be a lot to take in.
Today, I feel like that. I feel as I am coming into this new job, that I am not sure of what God has in store for me.
What does God have in store for you?
Are you afraid of what is to come or are you bracing yourself for new adventures?
I was in a devotions today and the leader of the devos encouraged us by saying that God "wants and gives the very best to you. He gives the best gifts."
The best.
Colossians 3:1
-2 - "
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."
"Don't be afraid, dear children." That is what God is calling out to us. Don't worry about these fears and problems and times of testing.
Set your eyes on me.
Take encouragment in that today as we are about to enter the land of promise and blessing.
Like Joshua and the Israelites, the land we enter will not be easy. We will have Jericho's, Ai's, and the like.
Ask God today as you enter the land to lead you in, to bless your journey there, and to keep you safe to the end.
Let's Enter the Land!
